In character to celebrate World Book Day.
Year 3 took part in a Viking day, linked to their topic. They all put so much effort into their costumes and accessories and had such a great time taking part in craft activities as well as a traditional Scandinavian game called Kubb.
As part of this terms topic, Year 3 have been busy crafting using plastic bottles, foil and coloured card and they have produced some wonderful Longships.

This term, in Year 3, we have started our topic – Vicious Vikings with plenty of excitement and enthusiasm. We have been researching the Vikings – where they came from, where they settled in Wales and in the UK and also their beliefs in Gods and in Valhalla (their afterlife).
In Year 3 we have been settling back into school after such a long time away from our friends.
We have been working on place value in Maths, describing a setting using powerful adjectives in literacy as well as creating artwork in the style of artist Roy Lichtenstein and labelling Welsh Castles on a map in Geography.
Welcome to Year 3.
This Autumn term our topic will be: Blood, bones and gory bits. Through our topic we will be discovering more about our bodies and how to take care of them. We will be learning about teeth, healthy eating and our skeletons.
Also, we will be using our Hwb accounts regularly and all our homework will be on J2E so that we work in a paperless way, linking home and school tasks.
Our day for P.E is Friday, drama is on a Monday and from time to time children will be asked to bring outdoor shoes to allow us to work outside.
We have lots to look forward to and through encouraging, supporting and helping one another, the challenges of the year ahead are achievable.
