you to understand and use your computing skills in a

SAFE, FUN and COOL way! 😎

Using technology safely and correctly should be your number one focus!

It’s great to develop your computing skills! Look after yourself by doing this in a safe and positive way! 👍

Staying Safe on Line is Very Important!

If used well, the Internet can be a safefun and informative place. However, caution is

needed because the Internet can also be a dangerous place. It’s a place where people can

be untruthful or a place where people can stumble on something they would rather not see.

Some Golden Rules for children

  • Make the adults in your life aware of your actions online so that they can be there for you and help you to use the Internet in a positive way.

  • Don't give out personal information such as your address, phone number or an adult’s bank details.

  • Be careful and savvy about what you send out to others or post.

  • Don't open emails or attachments from people you don't know. It could cause a virus to download or it could allow somebody access to your details.

  • Don't become online ‘friends’ with people you don't know. Use privacy settings.

  • Set your on-screen name to a nickname and use avatars on gaming systems.

  • Never arrange to meet someone in person who you've met online.

  • If anything you see or read online worries or upsets you, tell someone about it.

Always be careful when you are using the internet. It can help you to keep in touch with your friends and help your education – but it can also cause harm – to you and to others.

Remember help is always available at school if you are having any problems online. Don’t be afraid to talk to your teacher or another adult at school.
